The book is powerful and deeply personal memoir that offers a moving look at survival, identity, and perseverance through the Jewish experience during and after World War II. The author’s honest storytelling makes the historical events feel very real and impactful. While the story is compelling, some parts of the book feel very detailed and lengthy, which may slow down the pace for readers who prefer a more concise narrative.
